REUPSpot Live: Hip Hop Takeover – featuring Richie Roc, Chane, D-Risha, Nasty Nique, Byron Bank, Cooley Kimble, & Franchise & Yung

For this Episode of REUPSpot Live, we’re out at Mango’s in Houston Texas for the ‘Hip Hop Takeover’ show hosted by Richie Roc, including performances by: Byron Bank, Cooley Kimble, Chane, D-Risha, Nasty Nique, Franchise & Yung, and Richie Roc.

We showed up a little bit early to Mangos, which I had never been to. Cool little venue. Name’s kinda fruity, literally. But we got some drinks, and chilled and waited for the first set to start.

Richie Roc showed up a few minutes after us. After dealing with some bullshit, which was out of his control, and he handled really well, everyone started getting ready for the show.

First person on stage was Byron Bank. No S. For some reason, people, including me, just tend to say Banks. NOT correct, it’s Bank. So anyway, he had a pretty good show. His hype man was really hype also, more in the intensity he yelled his backup vocals, and they made for an entertaining show. The music was tight. Check out the mixtape of his I posted recently for more.

Next up was Cooley Kimble. Sunglasses inside and everything, dude wrecked it. The stage at Mango’s is actually a decent size, and he was moving around, and trying to get the crowd moving as well. It was a really entertaining show, and like I said, he tried to involve the crowd and get them up and moving, which is good. In our talk with them, DJ Creap also gets them to expand on there ‘swag’ stuff a bit more also. Make sure you check out that video.

Then, there was Chane. If you haven’t heard of Chane yet, you for sure need to check him out. Like, stop reading this for a second and go check out this video for his track on our Upcoming mixtape: The South. Dude puts everything into his music. So, his show was real dope. He’s always has a lot of energy, and passion for the music. He also had his buddy with him, doing some serious dancing on stage. He also brought one of his friends onstage, Nova, for a really dope track they did together. Never heard Nova before, but the verse was real tight, and very real. Chane jumped down into the crowd as well, and got up close and personal with the audience, including his Wife who was out to support. Make sure to check out the videos, and also, download everything you can from Chane. Start with this: Motivation.

Next up, the host of the night, and a really dope rapper, Richie Roc. Even though he had to deal with some bullshit earlier in the night, he had it together for the set. His tracks were on point, and he did his thing. You gotta check out his music as well if you haven’t. Solid lyricism, real shit, etc. Quality music. Got some good videos from this show as well. And if your in Houston, you can catch him performing all over the city constantly, including the upcoming 6th Annual Scion Expo, and lots more. Including our first official show, Box Social, coming June 25th to Houston Texas. Stay tuned for more on that.

The last, and crazy hype, performance was from D-Risha & Nasty Nique. They’re both members of the Rouge Scholar Alliance, and joined up for this set. They were hype as shit, I’m telling you. They got a little ‘mosh pit’ I guess you’d call it, going even, because people where jamming along, and jumping around crazy to the music. It was a shorter set, I would have loved to see the full set they had planned. But they got a really good response, so they’ll probably do it again.

That was it for the rap performances. Franchise & Yung weren’t able to perform this night. Not their, or Richie Roc’s fault, and nothing that could be avoided. They where cool guys though, and we bullshitted for a bit, and got an interview with them. We’re gunna make it out to one of there other upcoming shows though, so we’ll get some show video when we do.

Renzo was also hanging out, so we got a short little freestyle video with him, which was cool. He did NOT want me to bust out the camera for it, but I think it went good, no? DJ Creap was chillin also, and as you’ll see in the videos, handle some of the interviews. Pretty entertaining shit, y’all should check them out.
