I’m the short one beside anyone…5’6. Anyways for those who haven’t seen A.Dd+ myspace explain how you and Skinny met and formed a duo?

well thats kinda a long one…. you dont mind do ya?…. ok….. i moved here(Dallas) back in junior high like december 2000, that nigga was one of the first people i met….. found out we stayed in the same
apartment complex…. then it just took off from there….. as we got older we used to just be fuckin round wit rappin mostly using it to make fun of mufuckas…. niggas had an extremely dumb ass style of rappin a few years back…… everything started wit “I done came down” or “I done came thru”.

so that shit used to crack us up… i was always doin a lil side bullshit writing Skinny didnt write nothin…. but when we be fuckin round he would actually say some good shit sometimes and i just used to tell him if he eva took it serious he would probably be good at it…….so we used to be writin on, you know, industry niggas
beats …. i guess that was us finding ourselves cause we was writin some shit we aint even have no part of…… that shit funny as fuck to me mayne……(am i cursing too much???) talkin bout shootin niggas and sellin pounds of crack and shit….. nigga please…… but we aint angels by-far we dwelled in shit like that
but not the way we was talkin bout it…..but we kept writin, so much to the point where we actually saw our growth and knew when we were changin….. i would say it was like late 2006 early 2007 where it semed like we was actually gettin there…..we came up wit the name A.Dd+ in 2007 cause thats when we decided to
actually start recording …….

Now about the name…A.Dd +, where did this come from and what does it mean?

My name is Arrias…. Skinny name is Dionte but comin up everybody called him
D.d……. so we just took my first intial and his nickname…….A.Dd+………NOW
THE PLUS IS THE NICE PART……….the plus sign stands for many things……

“beyond what you on by eons and eons”. plus means addition…. goin on forever and
forever….. our extended member chris (he dont rap or nothin but it was three of us
comin up so thats our way of including him….once again he dont rap)….. it also
stands for the many things we are capable of…… “A.Dd+ nigga nuthin
subtracts”…..

Thats creative, I like it. What are we to expect with “Power of the Tongue” (presented by 808studios)?

expect alot alot alot alot of versatility…… people dont believe we are from Dallas sometimes when we rap for them….its truthfully a well rounded mixtape….. we got production from the hottest producers in Dallas hands down…. J.Rhodes, Be Eazy, B. Williams “Golden Child”, and Knesecary….. beats are crazy…. not being cliche’ when i say this but it is actually something different from Dallas…. really really somethin different……
cant stretch how left field this is compared to the rest that has come and gone out of Dallas…..Headkrack of Dallas’s 97.9 the beat radio station heard a rough cut and said our mixtape is better than some people’s albums….. ya’ll can download that at www.divehiflylo.com July 21st.

We get the exclusive right? haha…Does the acapella “Power of the Tongue” give a vivid picture of what to expect with this project?

i wouldnt say its a picture of the project….its funny cause we were actually going to use that as the intro….. but we handled that with the intro “The Artist and The Felon”… it just takes a good listen…. the acapella is used as an interlude…. it does fit as an embodiment of the entire project but we wanted to jump it off wit some upbeat shit

6 days and we get to hear it all!!! How long has this project been in the making and what/who was the inspiration for it?

welll. we were the inspiration for it….. we actually had been sitting on that title for like a year before we started recording it… we started recording in like December 2008…. the meaning of the passages from the bible were another inspiration…. it was so deep that we wanted to name it that….. its not a gospel
record….. but the title is very significant because of the meaning

Sounds inspiring…Do either of you have further talents than rhyming…such as producing, ghostwriting, singing…etc?

well i have yet to venture off into producing, which is somethin we both plan on doin, Skinny is a ridiculous artist tho.. he draws with a passion… i cant draw fa shit but you can catch me on the basketball court…. we actually have plans for a clothing line when we get established enough. and we do dabble in the poetry
alot…..

I’m up for hoops. Do y’all feed off each other while writing or does one do the brain storming and the other steps in?. Explain how Skinny and Arrias work together on a track…

we usually feed off each other or tell each other if that was weak…. but there have been times where i would come up wit somethin and he would come up wit somethin else ………..sometimes one writes a verse before the other…. then we go based on what was said……. but shit thats all the same as feedin off each other right????

HaHa, yes we can classify it as feedin off each other. You two definitely give off an Outkast vide…how much do they influence everything you do?

mayyyyynee!!!! OUTKAST….. YES….. we are in no way, shape or form trying to mimic them but they had a MAJOR influence on what we do….. their creativity is just so damn groundbreaking and outta this world……. Just cant explain how ahead of everything them niggas is…… Its simply profound…..we have often been said that we remind people of them, but i think thats just cause its two of us and two of them, you know how people just be sayin shit…… but yeah thats the number one group to us fa real, fa real… Field Mobb is a big influence also…..

Outkast very dope, I think they influence us all…but it is very noticeable with you two. Are there any plans for y’all to do your own solo things?

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha a…….. whoahhhhh!!!! pump ya breaks now…… we just gettin started….. that aint even goin thru our minds right now……this is just a mixtape….. we gotta give the WORLD us as a group before we think bout some solo shit..

I’m just asking…for the future ya’ know. Whose y’alls favorite rising star in the game?

well mine would be A.Dd+….. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha nawwww probably be J.Cole or Richboy(still feelin that nigga) and Skinny’s would be Jeremih or Drake cause they do the rappin and singin shit…..
