Hip”ster”-Hop

News Real Talk
Hip”ster”-Hop

Urban Dictionary defines Hipster Hop as the following…

An emerging subculture built around DJ’s who have a blog with wild party pictures, do mash-ups that usually involve dirty south and/or Diplomats-related rap, wear designer jeans with retro Nikes, and inhabit a grey area between being a hipster and having “street credibility.”

First walk over to your closets and throw away your baggy clothes and gold chains.
Okay, now that you have completed task one let’s move on.
Sorry Run DMC, Pete Rock, and Public Enemy but it’s time to take off your converses, kick back and relax as these tight pants, neon color, retro t-shirts, and goofy glasses wearing “hipsters” take their turn to run Hip-Hop.

Q: What exactly is the philosophy for hipster rappers?
A: Having fun.

The music is not the conscious rap from the 90s that YOU (YOU=HATERS) grew up on, nor is it underground rap. Neither has it claimed to be. If Lil Wayne and 50 Cent are labeled Hip-Hop with their thugged-out braggadocio garbage, than these “hipsters” can be labeled the same. Actually I prefer to listen to rappers having a good time over rambling about gun clapping and slapping women(in their words “bitches”.)

Am I pissing YOU (YOU=HATERS) off yet? Keep reading.

I’m not saying the tighter your jeans, the tighter your rhymes in any sense. To be precise, I’m not even defending “hipsters” (I myself do not wear skinny jeans though). I am just curious why there has been so much hate against “hipsters.” Oh that’s right, “They are metro-sexuals.” Hip-Hop is turning into politics with that view point. Just because you are being different you are gay. Well in that case, this gay genre of Hip-Hop is keeping Hip-Hop alive, single handedly. To shut YOU(YOU=HATERS) up, I put together a collection of “hipster” tracks for you to enjoy.
(Excuse the lack of skills with album cover)
